Quality and respect

are in our DNA

Headquartered in the region of Governador Valadares, in Minas Gerais, Cruzeiro Mine has been managed since 1980 by the Neves family, now represented in its third generation. The group has achieved international recognition for its seriousness, governance and best practices in mining to the cutting of various gemstones.

Our value proposition is to bring formality and complete traceability of the production chain to the jewelry industry, as well as to support environmental sustainability through a minimal impact approach in gem mining.

Where We Are

From Minas Gerais to the world.

The historic Cruzeiro Mine started operations in 1940, in the region pioneered by the bandeirante Fernão Dias in search of precious stones. With a long tradition in the extraction of tourmalines, beryls and quartz, Cruzeiro Mine is now home to one of the most prosperous gem operations in the world.

Outside, the landscape is enchanting. Its interior delights with the color of its stones: Tourmalines and Rubellites.

Our Rubellite, with an intense pinkish-red tone, is considered the most beautiful in the world, our greatest treasure.

The concern with the present and the future makes Cruzeiro Mine ensure stable quantity, quality, variety and above all sustainability.

Products

Ethically sourced, expertly crafted, timelessly brilliant

Tourmaline

Tourmalines are the world’s most colorful gemstones, ranging from transparent to pitch black.

The pegmatite-rich Cruzeiro Mine yields a rainbow array of gems, and much of our production is green tourmaline, ranging from yellow-green to the highly sought-after blue-green and true blue, also known as indicolite.

We also produce lovely pink tourmaline, ranging from baby pink to deep, rich fuchsia, as well as an array of bicolor tourmalines.

With a Mohs hardness of 7.5, tourmaline is beloved by jewelers and consumers for its range of colors and its durability.

Rubellite

Cruzeiro Mine is world famous for its rubellite, recognized by gem experts as some of the world’s clearest and finest deep pink and red colored gems. In 2012, miners discovered the Legend Pocket, possibly the world’s most famous rubellite find.

The mine also produces stunning bi-color rubellite, which shows a striking contrast between rich red and water-clear transparency.

Scientists, gem collectors and gem enthusiasts from all over the world have traveled to Cruzeiro Mine to witness the mining of some of the world’s most revered rubellites.

Aquamarine

Brazil is a major source of aquamarine, and Cruzeiro Mine is among the country’s recognized producers.

The stone, a member of the beryl family,  is a popular choice among jewelers and consumers for its soft green-blue to blue color.

Aquamarine is classified as a Type I stone, meaning it has few inclusions, and this high-quality, high-durability stone is well known by jewelers and consumers alike.

Morganite

The mine also produces morganite, another member of the beryl family, a stone that has been rising in popularity since 2010.

The stone gained attention for its nearly neutral tones, in pink, peachy and orange hues with good clarity, leading jewelers to use it as a diamond alternative.

Specimens

For those with a discerning eye, collector’s stones are treasures beyond compare. Rare, unique, and extraordinary, these gems are the pinnacle of nature’s artistry.

Each piece tells a story of its formation, carrying within it the history of Earth’s wonders. They are not just stones; they are legacies—preserved for generations to admire and cherish.
